The town of Kilwinning in Ayrshire has not had a bank branch since Royal Bank of Scotland slammed shut the doors of the last remaining one three years ago. Businesses were left without basic banking facilities and residents without friendly bank staff to help them with their money. But this month hope has appeared – in the unlikely shape of a bright pink kiosk at the back of a Co-op supermarket.
